Nina George: The Little Paris Bookshop: A Novel
I love Paris, so couldn’t resist this title. I read this book in one sitting.
Beyond teaching us something new and giving us something to talk about at book club or any other event where we want to come off as ‘smarter than the average bear’, books make us super-human time travelers. They teach us and transform us in ways that experience can’t. They transport us to new places, new communities, new situations. We find ourselves in characters and can experience things we would never have the time for in real life.
But here is another favorite line from the book:
“Books can do many things, but not everything. We have to live the important things, not read them.”
Wise words, especially to a book worm like me!
Live the important thing today – the ‘being your best self’ kind of important thing!
