here by a smiling look, there by a kindly word; always doing the smallest right and doing it all for love.” ― St. Therese of Lisieux
A while ago, I read Story of a Soul, the Autobiography of St. Therese of Lisieux. She lived a short but beautiful life and teaches the world how to be holy and loving in all the little things that make up an ordinary daily life.
Then one day, I was in the rest room at work replacing the paper towel roll for what felt the 100th time. Why is it that I always seem to be the one to deal with replacing the paper towels?? Then I felt Therese tap me on the shoulder and I realized that I was just the one chosen for this small job that required no skill other than opening the package and replacing the role. So, I did it and continue to, with a smile instead of a scowl.
The feast day of St. Therese of Lisieux is October 1st.
No doubt, there is some small act you can do right now to be the best version of yourself, isn’t there?
